Security-What To Do If...

As a DFFCU member, the security of your accounts and personal information are a priority to us. If you think you've given out personal information, we will work with you and law enforcement agencies to investigate any suspicious activity.
If you believe you are a victim, take these steps immediately:
- Report the incident to a DFFCU Member Service Representative at (804) 748-9488 or (800) 94-DFFCU.
- Contact these credit bureaus and instruct them to flag your accounts with a "fraud alert."
- Equifax Fraud Hotline (800) 525-6285
- Experian Fraud Hotline (888) 394-3742
- TransUnion Fraud Hotline (800) 680-7289
- Contact credit card companies if you provided card account information in a scam. Close any affected accounts so that they are registered as "closed at customer request."
- Call the FTC Identity Theft Hotline at (877) 438-4338 to file a compliant.
- Contact the Social Security Administration's Fraud Hotline AT (800) 269-0271 to report unauthorized use of your personal identification number.
- Contact your local police department to file a criminal report.
- Notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of your identity theft.
- Document the names and phone numbers of everyone you speak to regarding the incident.
