What to Do if You've Given Out Personal Information
As a DFFCU member, the security of your accounts and personal information are a priority to us. If you think you've given out personal information, we will work with you and law enforcement agencies to investigate any suspicious activity.
If you believe you are a victim, take these steps immediately:

Report the incident to a DFFCU Member Service Representative at (804) 748-9488 or (800) 94-DFFCU.

Contact these credit bureaus and instruct them to flag your accounts with a "fraud alert."

Contact credit card companies if you provided card account information in a scam. Close any affected accounts so that they are registered as "closed at customer request."

Call the FTC Identity Theft Hotline at (877) 438-4338 to file a compliant.

Contact the Social Security Administration's Fraud Hotline AT (800) 269-0271to report unauthorized use of your personal identification number.

Contact your local police department to file a criminal report.

Notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of your identity theft.

Document the names and phone numbers of everyone you speak to regarding the incident.
